Verified ReviewerBad upper management
I worked for service experts in NY and NC. When I left NC, they took over 100 hours of PTO, claiming the policy changed, and now you have to forfeit any time you have.
I gave 3 weeks' notice when I left, even asked if I could go on PTO for 2+ weeks to use my time and was denied! In NY, I worked 12-hour shifts for weeks, worked without pay when they changed systems, and this is how they treat dedicated employees?
NY service experts is a joke. Office management does nothing unless you bow down to the narcissistic general manager and kiss his *** I watched him try and humiliate a co-worker because she wouldn't ring a bell every time she scheduled an appointment, screamed at her in front of everyone, and told her to leave if she refused to ring his little bell.
User's recommendation: Don't work there

Verified ReviewerAfter 4 Months having the advantage program I am very disappointed.
I have a deal in progress. Hopefully sometime this week.
They have agreed to an amount for a payoff.
I was just informed the agreement has to be agreed to by one other department.Until I receive the agreement and my attorney reviews the agreement to make sure exactly what theagreement says it is hopefully the end.. I still have to sign it and give the agreed amount through my attorney to the company until this happens it is just that an unsigned agreement.
My unit was 8 years old. The technician told me he couldn't tell me how much longer my unit would last. It's May and the hottest part of the year is coming up. I told him I didn't have the money for a new air conditioner at that time.
He said no problem, they have an advantage program with 0% interest and if something happens to the unit they will replace the parts or a new air conditioner. The price quoted was $10,000 for an air conditioner and $5,000 for installation. I was disappointed that neither the technician nor the salesperson who came from the Advantage Program explained how I would then need to have a breaker box on my wall upstairs. They came to install on June 1, 2024.
The contract stated you have 3 days to change your mind. The unit was already installed in less than 3 days. I have not been able to speak to either a manager from Service Experts or the Advantage Program. At the time I signed the contract, nothing was explained about the cost.
After 4 months, I finally got through to the company. I want to cancel the contract. I have paid for 3 months and, after giving them my credit card number for payment. After 3 months, they called me to tell me they couldn't charge my card.
I gave them my card again and paid for the 3 months in September. I just received a text message again telling me they couldn't charge my card, so I refused until I talk to a supervisor. I read the contract finally after realizing that I believe they used unfair practice to sell me a unit when I was already stressed with my husband passing away under 2 months after they convinced me for the sale. The total amount for this contract was $29,413.23 spread across 119 payments.
I could probably have bought 2 air conditioners for this price. My payoff is $16,988.41 after nearly 4 months into this contract. I don't recall even hearing the total amount of $29,413.23 or a total of $247.17 for the 119 months of payments. I am now having different AC companies come in the next few days to give me an estimate on what they would've charged me had I not been using Service Experts.
I have used Service Experts for a number of years but will never do business with them again. In fact, one of the businesses gave me a phone number for Elder Abuse. After explaining what happened, they felt that I was unfairly talked into a program that is really costly. The saddest part is the technician who convinced me into this was someone who had serviced my unit before.
I felt that I could trust him, but I won't trust anyone like that again. I believe that the sale was beneficial for the technician, or why would anyone talk a homeowner into a bad deal like I was.
User's recommendation: I would not recommend this company ever. I'm so sorry that the only important thing is a sale.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
Technician said at 11pm condensor switch was bad. Didnt have switch on hand. Had to wait till morning for another technician to come by and said it was the compressor. So he said they are going to install new unit.
Then he left to go to his next appointment. He wasnt sure what time or who was coming back. I too have appointments today but they seem uninterested in my inconvenience they are putting on me. Been with this company for over twenty years and treated this way.
Had three A/C systems installed over the years. Very unacceptable and will be looking for a future A/C company where they put their customers first.
Sincerely
Brenda Osborne

This company is a joke. I can't even believe I had to give a 1 star.
The women in the office are rude and unhelpful. Then you've got Martin as a tech who has no idea how to even work HVAC. He is very rude and looks like a slob with his shirt untucked. He is out there looking clueless and leaves with a new part ordered and nothing fixed, after sitting in his van pretending to work.
Service experts, please check out whom you're hiring and keep an eye on them to make sure they know the HVAC trade because this guy doesn't, and he is costing your company lots of money. I'm definitely canceling what I have with this company and leaving a review they deserve, so that others can see before they use service experts.

Verified Reviewer |This company is a JOKE
We have the advantage program, and it's been a total waste of our money, as we can't get anyone to ever come out to do maintenance and change filters. Instead, They asked if we can just go to Walmart and get the stuff ourselves) that's not part of the advantage program agreement), and just do it, or they book a day only to NEVER call or show up.
You call and ask what happened, and they said they called and left a voicemail saying they have to reschedule, which they had no record of. They never have on hand, what we need for the maintenance or changing of filters. One appointment, the guy was supposed to call 30 mins ahead of time and just showed up, then sat in the driveway for 20 mins, saying he'd be here in 15 mins cause he was waiting on someone else...in our driveway. Was he waiting for someone else in our house to do service, cause everyone was home.
JOKE JOKE JOKE company. Do not recommend ever, we just keep them cause we'd have to start over in finding someone else and get all new equipment, as they take all theirs.
And the advantage program...you NEVER pay off the system, you just pay on it forever and ever, even though the service is horrible. Ugh

Verified ReviewerScammers take advantage
My HVAC went out on July 4, 2021. I called Midway Services, who sent out a repair person. A salesman also came with him to sell me an HVAC unit as well as a water heater. I was not advised that the 'service contract' would only be for service and not to pay off the purchase, even though I am also paying sales tax!
I cannot get a straight answer from Service Experts, who also said if I have questions about the 'service contract', I should speak with Midway Services. Midway services passed the buck and said I should get all my questions answered by Advantage.
I told Midway that Advantage told me to talk to MIDWAY about the service contract. It is a complete runaround.
Midway assured me they would contact Advantage and get this escalated and have someone contact me for further information.
I will be escalating this myself with Pinellas County Consumer Affairs.
Beware... Scammers.
- Misleading false information general unprofessionalism
Preferred solution: Full credit for paying $233.25 every month since July 2021 inlcuding the "sales tax" of $15.26 each month, put towards the payoff figure to satisfy the purchase of HVAC and Water Heater.

Beyond unhappy consumer
DO NOT USE SERVICE EXPERTS.
If I could give 0 stars I would!! Ill make this short and sweet!
Less than 2 year old $10,000 unit, has now been out of commission twice in less than 6 months.
The first time we had service experts come out to diagnose the issue with the unit THEY installed. The tech told us that the machine was built to break. When asked why they would sell it, he replied they can only sell you what they have. Before leaving he quoted us $2000 to fix the unit because it was no longer under warranty.
When looking on manufacturers website, we found out our unit was in fact still covered under warranty.
Now our unit is down again.
A 2 year old $10,000 carrier unit sold by SERVICE EXPERTS has been down twice in central Florida during the summer and THEY DO NOT CARE!
Im sure they will try to respond to this with a bot generated response, but just know its all a lie. They do not care about the consumer once you spend the money to install a unit.
User's recommendation: Stay away from this con artist of a company
I am giving an excellent service review on your employee (DAX). He is was very understanding and patient explaining had to do. He will go very far with his kindness and knowledge.
He was very polite when he arrived. Checked out the issue to see what was going on and what was needed.
He also explained what he was going to do. I would give him a 5 star rating.
User's recommendation: I would recommend him to others.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Very late appointment
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They elevated my appointment and got me seen asap, however they still forgot to provide me with filters as stated in my contract.
Think twice gave this company 5 stars for my last interaction with them. However, I've been waiting for a 12-4 appointment and it's now 5:12pm.
I called and asked if there was an issue but was told the technician was on his way. I asked for filters last time and the technician didn't bring them.
I asked for them this time and I guess I won't receive them again. It's funny that they will delay appointments, or forget to bring supplies that are indicated in our contract, but WILL NEVER BE LATE to withdraw funds from my account.

Verified Reviewer |Service Experts are pressure salesmen masquerading as techs.
What "pissed me off" about this company was their predatory actions. This "mistake of judgement" only cost $135. Numerous bad reviews on various venues is really all I want to do.
Did not perform maintenance. Unprepared."
We called in the Boca Raton, Fla company to look at a frozen AC unit. Within minutes of arriving at my daughter's condo, they were trying to sell her a new unit "for only" $200 per month for the next 119 months.
They also told her that her water heater would fail one day, and they could also replace it for "only" 50 per month for the next 119 months.
She called in another reputable company, Engineered Air, and immediately the tech asked, "Who removed the inside and outside disconnect switches?" Was this sabotage or forgetfulness?
They claim to offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, but neither the local office or corporate would tell me how. (The corporate office is just an answering service, who will NOT forward your call to anyone other than the local dealer.) The guarantee is shown below in the media files.

Resolved: Question about maintenance agreement
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
Question concerning maintenance agreement. Head person has not returned my call since last week.
I spoke to someone last week with concern question also spoke with someone yesterday still no response from management team. No way to treat a long time customer.
Compliments for service received today
Earlier today I received maintenance service on my HVAC system by two of your experts (Tulasi and Lester). The two were very nice and polite, and obviously knew what they were doing.
I now know that my system is in very good shape, but needs a duct cleaning as could be seen from the main filter condition. That will be taken care of immediately.

We have used Service experts for a few years now and they are always available, very helpful, explain things well. Hones, truthful and make sure things are right before they leave. Hayes and Pat were at our house and worked very hard and efficiently to get things corrected!
I would recommend them to anyone needing this type of service.

Verified ReviewerRefusal to honor Advantage Agreement UV Light Annual replacement
I signed an Advantage plan agreement on 9/4/2021. Owen George was the salesperson who wrote the contract.
Mr. George went over all the savings of the Advantage program to justify the additional cost of the program. A very key element of the cost was the promise to replace the UV bulbs annually and how much money that would save me not having to buy the bulbs myself.
On the Service Experts website they state, "The UV bulbs will also require replacement in the long run. Yearly work on these systems includes replacing the bulbs, which is typically $130.
My unit has two bulbs, my first call to have them serviced a year ago was like pulling teeth, it was obvious they didn't want to replace them.
After constant calls and complaining they finally replaced them.
Another year has gone by and once again they show up without bulbs. As soon as I mentioned replacing the UV bulbs I could feel there was going to be a problem. The tech said the reason they didn't send bulbs with him was on account they didn't know which bulb. I found that hard to believe.
The tech opened up the unit and soon told me that I have two-year bulbs, so they didn't require changing.
Now I feel as though I've been lied to twice. Service Experts need to live up to what they advertise and promise in their contracts.
I'd like the company to replace my two bulbs annually as promised in the contract and on their website.
It's been painful dealing with this company.

I completely agree with you! I have had service experts for 15 years and I fired them this year after their service declined.
They were a good company prior to the pandemic. They now send a salesman out with the technician to pressure you into replacing your air conditioner because of it's age after they tell you it has no problems. They also have stopped cleaning the mold inside the air handler.
The technicians are very inexperienced. Really a sad story I am sure it is their management trying to increase profits at the expense of good service.
